Clubs & Activities
At Arlington Elementary, we know how important it is for students to have fun while they learn and grow. That’s why we offer plenty of sports, clubs and activities. These give students a chance to try new things, build confidence and learn how to work as a team. It’s also a great way for them to make friends and feel more connected to school.
Cheer
4th and 5th graders cheer primarily for basketball and other events where we can provide school spirit, while also working all year to be positive role models and offer leadership in the school amongst the student body.
Girls Basketball
Students play other area FWCS Elementary Schools in full-court basketball games and participate in a tournament at the end of the season.
Girls Who Code
In Girls Who Code, each meeting, our goal is to find opportunities for our girls to be brave, creative, and supportive. Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization that aims to support and increase the number of women in computer science by equipping young women with the necessary computing skills to pursue 21st-century opportunities.
Safety Patrol
Our Safety Patrols are hand-selected by exemplifying Arlington’s core values. Safety Patrols are responsible for helping the student body move safely through the halls of our school, to and from their vehicles, buses, and classrooms during arrival and dismissal.
Spell Bowl
Students in the Arlington Spell Bowl learn to spell and define various words leading up to the area Indiana Academic Spell Bowl competition that is hosted at local area schools against other FWCS Elementary Schools based on division. They strive for a chance to compete at the State Championship.
Robotics
Arlington robotics is a place where creativity, technology and innovation collide. Our club meets several times a week and is open to our fourth and fifth graders. Students will learn the basics of coding, engineering, and scientific concepts while building and programming their own robots on our robotics teams, the Ogrebots. Our teams compete against other local and regional schools for an opportunity to compete at the state tournament in Indianapolis. Beyond STEM skills, our club emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving and communication, helping kids develop essential soft skills for future success.
Arlington Yo-Yos
Participants in the Yoyo club learn how to yo-yo furthering their development of hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Students come together to encourage one another, make new friends and learn new tricks.
