About Us
At Arlington, we value community, student growth and active learning. We strive to create a supportive environment that recognizes effort and brings students together. Our core value commitments include contribute to learning, apologize, be fair, be honest, be patient, be kind and forgive. These values guide daily interactions and are a testament to the positive, inclusive culture that defines our school. Below are a few ways we put these values into practice throughout the school year.
The Arrow Way
At Arlington, The Arrow Way represents the vibrant culture we've built together. Being an Arlington Arrow means we “Aim for Excellence” not just in academics, but in the way we care for one another and contribute to our community. Our students are held to a standard that goes beyond the classroom, growing in collaboration, communication, emotional regulation and real-world application of learning.
Our dedicated staff work every day to support student success, forming authentic relationships and delivering engaging, meaningful instruction. The result is a school culture where students feel seen, supported and empowered to make a positive impact.
The Arlington Pledge
Each morning, our students recite the Arlington Pledge as a shared commitment to kindness, responsibility and growth:
I’m an Arlington Arrow. I’ll be helpful and kind, thankful and patient, honest and nice. I’ll cheer for friends, say sorry and forgive. I promise to be my best.

Kindness Shout-Outs
Kindness is celebrated daily at Arlington. Through our Kindness Shout-Outs, staff nominate students who go out of their way to show compassion, leadership and thoughtfulness. These students are recognized during morning announcements, receive a special note to take home, and pick up a reward from the office. It’s one of the many ways we spotlight the good we see every day.
Staff Shout-Outs
Our staff are celebrated, too. Every Friday, our school therapist, Olivia Arroyo, showcases shout-outs from colleagues, highlighting everything from instructional excellence to teamwork and support. These recognitions are shared on decorative posters displayed throughout the building as a visible reminder of the positive impact our staff make every day.
Rock Star of the Month
Each month, we honor a certified staff member, classified team member or staff group as our Arlington Rockstars. These individuals are recognized for their reliability, work ethic and the meaningful relationships they build in our community. As part of the celebration, they hold our Rockstar Guitar for the month and are nominated for district-level recognition through FWCS.
VIP Day
VIP Day is a favorite tradition at Arlington. Students invite two special guests—parents, grandparents, siblings or loved ones—to join them at school and experience a day in their world. VIPs get a full look at classroom learning and school culture, enjoy lunch with students and share quality time in the environment where their child learns and grows each day. It’s a true celebration of connection and pride.
The Arlington Mile
Led by Coach Jonathan McCoy, the Arlington Mile is one of our most exciting school events. After time trials in PE class, the fastest boys and girls from each grade are selected to compete in the final race. Every student in kindergarten, pre-K and applied skills participates, and classmates come out to cheer them on. Families are also welcome to attend and support their runners.
